Jazz groups from NSU and OSU share the Guthrie Green stage for the first time!
This free show will feature two of Tulsa’s top vocalists Branjae Jackson and Cynthia Simmons performing with the Oklahoma State University Jazz Orchestra and the Northeastern State University Jazz Ensemble. There will also be several guest vocalists, who will also be sharing their talents making this a can’t miss event!
Several firsts for the schools and Guthrie Green will also happen during this event:
- Neither school’s jazz program has ever been showcased at the Guthrie Green.
- It is the first time the Guthrie Green has had two jazz big bands performing during the same event.
- Professional and amateur Jazz vocalists perform together with multiple big bands on the Guthrie Green stage!
Musically the show will include Jazz standards, original compositions, and much more!
Prepare yourself for a night of Big Bands, Big Voices, and Big Fun!
