More Fun In One Day Than You Ever Thought Possible!

The Rowdy Bunch Music Festival Presented by Tulsa Jazz and Taylor Entertainment Group and is a foot loose, fancy free, kick back, fun-filled event! The concert takes place at the Guthrie Green in downtown Tulsa’s Brady District on Sunday May 28th from 2:30-6:30 pm.

Tulsa Jazz and Taylor Entertainment Group President John Taylor says “The idea behind the concert is to feature several popular local groups that perform in various venues around the city, put them on a completely different platform and let them “cut loose”! They get to play their favorite music, originals, covers, you name it all while treating the crowd to a fabulous show and having a boatload of fun in the process!”, Taylor said.

We are also thrilled to have our Summer Music Series Sponsors Glacier Confections and Tyler Media working with and supporting the festival, as well as the Guthrie Green, Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa, Telemundo 25.2, Univision 25, and La Z Radio 101.9 FM & 1570 AM. This event doesn’t happen without them and they are greatly appreciated.

The featured artists are, Bethany Grace and GypsySoul a Rock, Blues, Gypsy-Rock, Folk-Rock, band offering an array of original music from ballads to hard hitting sultry rock. , Even Keel a Southern Rock, Blues, Country & Originals band, listening to them is an acoustic experience that will move your heart and your feet!, The Doctors of Replay a 70’s and 80’s style band committed to taking their audience back in time for a night, to relive great memories and meet up with old friends, and The Rusty Meyers Band a country band in the tradition of  George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, JMM, etc, delighting audiences with a mixture of some of your favorites and original music.

This is going to be an incredible event!

Bring your family, neighbors, friends, co-workers and enemies (they have to sit in the back) and enjoy a beautiful afternoon of good music, good food, and good fun at the pet-friendly Guthrie Green!

Big Bands, Big Voices:The Concert! Presented By SpiritBank October 9th 2016

Jazz groups from NSU and OSU share the Guthrie Green stage for the first time! 

This free show will feature two of Tulsa’s top vocalists Branjae Jackson and Cynthia Simmons performing with the Oklahoma State University Jazz Orchestra and the Northeastern State University Jazz Ensemble. There will also be several guest vocalists, who will also be sharing their talents making this a can’t miss event!

Several firsts for the schools and Guthrie Green will also happen during this event:

  • Neither school’s jazz program has ever been showcased at the Guthrie Green.
  • It is the first time the Guthrie Green has had two jazz big bands  performing during the same event.
  • Professional and amateur Jazz vocalists perform together with multiple big bands on the Guthrie Green stage!

Musically the show will include Jazz standards, original compositions, and much more!

Amy Cottingham performs at The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame welcomes renowned singer and pianist Amy Cottingham back to the Jazz Depot Stage.

Amy Cottingham began playing the piano and violin at age three. She sings, composes, arranges, transcribes, teaches and performs classical and jazz. Her compositions of varying styles have been performed in Tulsa by the Signature Symphony and by local schools. With a Bachelors degree in Piano Performance, she has won numerous state and regional piano competitions. She has performed multiple solo concerts and traveled around the world performing with vocal and instrumental ensembles. She holds a Masters degree in Orchestral Conducting from Oklahoma State University.

Amy performs regularly with the Signature Symphony and the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra. She has been invited to give solo recitals for the Brown Bag It series at the Performing Arts Center, the Music at the Mansion Series at the Historical Society, as well as recitals for church concert series and retirement communities. She has been invited to perform alongside other artists in Performance Plus and Tulsa Fest, under the direction of Dr. Barry Epperley. Amy has also been featured at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame numerous times as a solo performer with her own show and as a guest on the Annual Keyboard Concert.  Amy plays jazz, rags, tangos, improvisations and classical music regularly for parties, weddings, receptions, and corporate events.

Amy has been teaching private piano lessons for seventeen years and manages a full-time music studio out of her home, with many students placing in piano competitions and going on to be music majors in college. She is an active member of the Tulsa Accredited Music Teachers Association, Oklahoma Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association (with whom she is nationally certified) and the Hyechka Music Club, where she performs regularly. As an active accompanist, Amy’s experience ranges from musicals, school choirs and adult choirs to junior and senior recitals, auditions and professional recitals.  She works regularly with British vocalist ChrisMiddlebrook, performing songs from popular as well as little-known musicals.  She and other her musical partner, vocalist Annie Ellicott, are working on a CD of Annie’s original compositions, featuring a variety of instruments and musical styles.  For over three years, Amy has been providing a stage for a variety of local musicians and artists, from professionals to young students and up-and-coming performers, featuring a wide range of musical styles, by putting together monthly house concerts that bring the musical community together in a unique, intimate, supportive atmosphere.
