Features Artists:

2:30 pm- Gemstar Steel Band

Gemstar Caribbean Steel Band started in a small 2-bedroom apartment in 1997 in Tulsa Oklahoma. The instruments were purchased from Gemonites Steel Orchestra and the practice area was our living room.  On many occasions we had to play with our fingers for fear of being kicked out the apartment for making too much noise.  The original band members are, John Gonsalves: Musical Arrange, Soloist, Percussionist and Steel Drum Builder and John Gonsalves Jr., a seven-year-old student at Jenks Elementary.

Our Repertoire consist of Calypso, Reggae, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Classic, R&B and many other genres of music.  Our goal is to put a smile on your face, get your waist line gyrating and make you feel happy and rejuvenated by the time you leave our concerts.  Our Favorite Quote:   Don’t Worry, be Happy!!!

3:50 pm- Local Hero Reggae Band

Local Hero band is a local talent that has been around for twenty-three years and still playing their original music. The Local Hero band has had several of their own songs used in movies as well as a major HBO series! A few movies and shows to mention are…The movie Holiday in The Sun, The Underclassmen, Saturday night Live, and Season two of Sex and The City! These are just a few but there are thirteen altogether! Local Hero supports all of our local musicians and feel very blessed to still be around performing for all of you!

4:45-Baila Tulsa/Tulsa Touch

Baila Tulsa/Tulsa Touch is a local Dance Team that is part of the Island Touch family. Choreographies created by Jorge “Ataca” Burgos & Tanja “La Alemana” Kensinger.

5:40- La Gazodera Latin Band

The full La Gozadera Band has six members several of whom also perform with bands like Havana 405, and Orquestra D’Calle. The band has been in the music scene for the past 10 years playing in festivals, charity events and private venues.

In 2014 the band was invited to perform at the Latin Grammy’s street party in Dallas Texas. Over time the band has incorporated other styles of music like salsa and bachata but mainly cumbia. They like to make you dance, that’s what they enjoy the most!

The concert is free and pet friendly! Bring you friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and enemies (they have to sit in the back)

Treat yourself to a day full of good music, good food, and good fun as you relax and enjoy the beauty of the Guthrie Green.
