The 2015 Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Concert


The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) will host a special celebratory concert to recognize the 2015 OMHOF inductees on March 14 at 8:00 p.m. at the Freeland Center for the Performing Arts in Bristow. The induction ceremony and concert will feature performances by many of the honored artists.

This year’s inductees for their contribution to music include singer/songwriter and recipient of the 2009 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Tom Paxton, bluegrass fiddler and Hee Haw star Jana Jae, influential Red Dirt pioneer Tom Skinner, the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, and the first nationally recognized cowboy band to appear on The Billboard Music Charts, Otto Gray & his Oklahoma Cowboys (posthumous). The Governor’s Award will be posthumously presented to music videographer Sherman Halsey whose credits include Tim McGraw’s “Indian Outlaw,” Brooks and Dunn’s “Hard Workin’ Man” and Taylor Swift’s “Fearless.”

V.I.P. Tickets to the ceremony will include admission to the special pre-show reception which will be held at Bolin Ford at5:30 p.m. Doors will open for general ticket holders at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available for purchase

Live Music Wednesday with Rusty Meyers at Main St. Tavern

This Wednesday we have  a special musical treat in store for you, Nashville recording artist Rusty Meyers will be performing live at Main St Tavern.

Rusty Meyers started in his music career in Phoenix, Arizona but has recently moved to Tulsa where he formed a band, and is pursuing country music as a career. Rusty’s passion to perform on a large scale, led him to Nashville where record several songs on Music Row, while there he impressed many people who encouraged him to continue his path as a performer.

Rusty has performed in various nightclubs, corporate and private events, charity benefits, and television appearances. His style has been compared to George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Garth Brooks and even though Rusty loves to sing and play guitar, he also likes to act. He has a degree in performing arts, has performed in many plays, and also works behinds the scene in audio visuals.

Rusty’s ambition is to create great music for Oklahomans, and music lovers all over the world, so be sure to come out and see this talented performer, you’ll be glad you did.
