“Jazz at The Harwelden: A Benefit for James Mission” is an International Jazz Day sanctioned event, and Tulsa’s first official participation since the event’s inception in 2012. (See www.jazzday.com for additional details).

“International Jazz Day is the culmination of Jazz Appreciation Month, which draws public attention to jazz and its extraordinary heritage throughout April.

In December 2012, the United Nations General Assembly formally welcomed the decision by the UNESCO General Conference to proclaim April 30 as International Jazz Day.

The United Nations and UNESCO now both recognize International Jazz Day on their official calendars.” (Used with permission from jazzday.com)

The entertainment of the evening will be world class, The Cynthia Simmons Trio, featuring Spencer Sutton on piano, Jordan Hehl on Bass and Cynthia Simmons on Vocals. This trio will wow you with wonderful renditions of many of your jazz favorites as you sit back and enjoy a glass of wine in an atmosphere only the Harwelden can provide.

The night just keeps getting better as we celebrate International Jazz Day and support an incredible organization at the same time. James Mission provides help to foster homes, widows, single Moms, displaced children and others.

An example is when a child is considered endangered in their current environment and removed from a home they get to grab a few things but mostly leave with the clothes on their back. That’s where James Mission steps in; they have provided clothing, shoes, toys, toiletries and much more to over 2,000 children and adults since starting James Mission in 2013.james mission loads of love

On average they provide for 60 children a week and it continues to grow daily. It all started with just a few donations and a small table in the founder’s garage to now having their own building that contains a Resource Center and Visitation Center.

Your Admission to this ticketed event is a donation of new non-perishable items and/or a financial gift for James Mission. You get your tickets online at Eventbright  then bring your donation with you to the event. There is no cost for the ticket but each person has to present a ticket to attend the concert, seating is limited so get your tickets today!
